Mr. President, it is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we supposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.
Those words were spoken by someone much wiser then me; however it does remind us of our present state of affairs. I hope all of our members are awake, your eyes open, and your hearing is keen to the things that are happening in our country.
The Aiken County Tea Party is doing our part, we are listening to the people who want to represent us. In the City, County, State and Country.
We have had many at our meetings, and we will continue to have many more in the next two months.
June 2, 2012 we will have a Rally in the Alley from 10:00 AM to Noon We will invite all who are running for office to come and meet the people, the Tax Payers. We will take notes and we WILL hold then accountable after they get elected.
At our next meeting on May 21, 2012 at 6:30 PM at the County Bldg on Richland we will have additional speakers. Come out and ask questions and be a part of this great struggle. DON'T complain if you don't speak up.

Here is an email I received recently from a friend:
George W. Bush's speech after the capture of Saddam Hussein:
The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq . The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the Dictator’s footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate them.
Barack Hussein Obama speech, Sunday, May 1, 2011:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as I continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network. Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by my intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that I had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
Hubris (hu·bris), also hybris, means extreme haughtiness, pride or arrogance. Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one's own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power.

Wednesday evening, Feb 1, 2012, as my wife and I stood in line for three hours to show our respect to another fallen hero, (the second in less then five weeks), I had the opportunity to look into the eyes of all those young and older Police Officers who protect us 24/7.
I could see the sadness and concern in their faces. I am sure they were thinking, as we were, what is going on in our town and country? Have we lost all decency and morality?
WHO IS TO BLAME?
I would start with the Supreme Court who ruled it was ok to kill the unborn, i.e. Roe vs. Wade.
Second look at the courts and judges who hear cases against these violent criminals, and send them back into the street, over and over again where they are arrested over and over for other crimes.
We have a federal system that rewards young women to have babies out of wedlock. If you need a new car or TV, have another baby and you will get more free stuff from the taxpayer.
The sperm carrier that used to be called Daddy is no longer responsible for his actions. He is off with another, doing his thing, or on the streets doing drugs and endangering our Police Officers.
When these young women have their baby (most of them babies themselves), as soon as that baby can sit, they are placed in from of the TV to watch the filth that is put in front of us by Hollywood for hours every day. The TV is the baby sitter.
The babies are inundated with blood and gore for hours every day. When they grow older we see them in arcades playing games of unspeakable killing and torture. There minds are numb to what is moral or right. They believe it is normal to kill.
Then they attend the Government Schools where no teacher can discipline or hurt their little egos. If they are hyper-active, the so called Mom can get the doctor to write a prescription to keep them in a stupor and quiet. And DON'T say the word God or say a prayer or you will be in court.
When you visit the schools it is hard to distinguish between the teacher and the child, many dress like slops and act likewise. Of course you can’t complain because the union will file a law suit against the school for one reason or another.
Look at our upstanding Legal System. We are bombarded with ads from ambulance chasing lawyers suing anyone and everyone for any reason. (ONE CALL, THAT’S ALL!)
Our Representatives will do nothing about this as most of them are attorneys and get a lot of money from the very people who are making millions suing doctors and drug companies and anyone they deem to have done wrong, or made a mistake.
If you want to make changes and save this country from ourselves, we must get involved. We can no longer tolerate the laws that are forced upon us by the do-good legal system.
As George Washington said in 1787,
"The power under the Constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can, and undoubtedly will, be recalled."

To: All our Members,
First let me wish all our members and their families a Happy New Year. May 2012 be the year for real change, the year we will vote in a new President that will return our great country to sanity.
When we reflect on last year we must ask if we made a difference, did we bring change? I would have to say we did. Some great things happened, at least the Left fear us, as they continue to try to destroy us with the help of the LEFT WING media.
The most important fight is about to begin. We must replace the present administration with someone who believes in REAL CHANGE, not just any Republican. We tried that with Sen. McCain.
We are going to ask for volunteers who will help with a fundraiser so we can plan a Rally in the spring. We will work with other groups to attract the people who wish to be President; we need to hear from all of them.
We also need to hear from our members, we need your input and direction for this critical year. If we combine all the 240 plus members we can do great things.
PLEASE REMEMBER…
January 3rd, 2007 the Democrats took over the Senate and Congress:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
Bush Economic policies set a record of 52 straight months for job creation.
January 3rd, 2007 Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
Starting in 2001, President Bush asked Congress 17 times to stop Freddie and Fannie because it was financially risky for the US economy. Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)
It's your turn to help us fight the good fight. Do we sit back and hope for the best or do we get involved to make the changes that are necessary?
We will see a rush to South Carolina from all the candidates soon, please come out and ask questions. Get the answers so we can pick the right candidate to beat President Obama.
Your Country, Children and Grandchildren are counting on you.
Thank you.

TO: All our Members,
The Holiday's are with us and as I reflect on 2011, I have many things on my mind.
1. Did we make any difference in 2011? Did we change any minds or did we do anything to improve our City, County, State or Country.
2. What is the future of the Tea Party, or are we just a group of concerned people that get together and complain about all the things that are wrong?
3. Did I do enough to move the Tea Party in the direction we must go, if we want to make the changes that must be made? Did I ask enough of the Executive Committee, could we have done more?
4. I don't have all the answers, I have so many questions. This we can be sure of, we tried and we must continue to do more in 2012.
The answer is not to elect Republicans, we must elect the right people that will put country ahead of their own greed.
5. I am convinced we have the talent in The Aiken County Tea Party if we can get everyone involved. My hope is to see all our Members show up at the meetings to express their feelings and help us make a difference.
I ask God to give all of us the wisdom to make a difference. We must continue to work for real change. I pray for Peace and the return of our loved ones on the front lines.
Please pray for the Men and Women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country and ask God to protect their families and keep them close to Him.
I thank the Executive Committee Members for there support and hard work this year and I thank all of you for being a part of this movement.
I wish all of you a Wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas, may 2012 bring the CHANGE we need, to return us to a Country with HOPE for a better future, for our children.

I know you will agree with me, there are many issues on our plate; it is difficult the stay on top of all that is happening in the City, County and State.
Don't get discouraged, we are winning many battles and you can make a difference in your Community and State. I thank you for your involvement and your support.
For your information and "Action."
On June 1st, 2011 The General Assembly ratified the creation of the I-95 Corridor Authority. According to the legislation, the I-95 Corridor Authority must carry out economic development and educational improvement activities which in the opinion of the authority will improve the economic condition along the I-95 corridor of South Carolina.
Yes, you heard it right! The General Assembly is about to create a new agency for centrally planning the economy of the 17 counties along I-95.
The new law also mandates that the I-95 Corridor Authority must oversee the implementation of the recommendations contained in the I-95 Corridor Humans Needs Assessment.
The Assessment is a 189 page document created by an out of state group. It outlines how the government needs to intervene to help improve the chronic problems with struggling schools, cyclical poverty and health and social wellbeing.
The last thing we need is a new government bureaucracy to help where we are already burdened by too much government help.
The Governor vetoed the I-95 Corridor Authority Act and the Senate overrode the Governor's veto 30-10.
The House will vote on the veto on January 10, 2012 when they reconvene for the New Year. We need 1/3 of the SC House to vote to sustain the governor's veto, so we can stop this agency before it gets started.
Please contact your Representative and demand they sustain the governor's veto on S211, The I-95 Corridor Authority Act.
I attended a SC Senate Subcommittee briefing by Sen. Greg Ryberg who discussed the funding for the SC Retirement System.
We were surprised to hear the program has 19.7 billion dollars in Unfunded Liabilities. I will follow up and inform you about this on a later date.
Debbie Nix is doing a great job watching the City and their pension woes. I will discuss some of these issues at our regular meeting.
Please check our New and Improved Web site every week. The web site was created with the help of Charlie Brown. We owe a great deal of thanks to Charlie for his hard work. If you have suggestions for improvements, let Charlie know.

October, 2011
A nation in turmoil.
Nineteen men, in four planes, put this mightiest nation in the world into a tailspin of fear, apprehension, distrust, and political social and economic upheaval that continues to this day.
9/11, without doubt, was a calamitous day for America... over 3,000 of its citizens died in minutes. The World Trade Center, an icon of this nation's economic might, was turned to dust and tangled steel and the Pentagon was severely damaged.
These were superficial occurrences when compared to the psychological impact of that day on our nation. We became frightened that our sense of security had been wiped away, and this country of over 312 million people suddenly felt unsafe... all because of nineteen men.
The national sense of unease was exacerbated when on September 13, 2001 the Congress authorized President George W. Bush to use "all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determined planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States of America by such nations, organizations or persons."
On September 20, 2001 in an address to a joint session of Congress, President Bush declared, "Every nation, in every region now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime, in short, we were at war. And have been ever since in Afghanistan, then Iraq, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia, and who knows where next.
Here at home, we have become a locked down, concrete barricaded, body searched, security camera view, intruded upon by government in every sense of the word, "for our own safety and peace of mind." Except it hasn't given us either. If anything, it has us more "hyper" in our unease, and in continuing loss of everyday freedoms we once took for granted.
Disconcertingly, while our government has turned us into "Fortress America" with regards to "terrorists" it has also ignored the breeching of our borders by illegal invaders of every stripe and hue, though primarily from Mexico and other Central Americans Nations... and further by aiding and abetting millions of Muslims to legally immigrate into our country... the need for, and appropriateness of, such action has never been explained or justified to us, the citizens of this nation...
We are paying heavily for the occurrences and actions described above and may well, eventually, succumb to its burdens.
